please check out the fabulous review (fab because it really shares what the book is about, as well as the fact she liked it!)

I met Heidi through the Equinest

  1. I enjoyed reading the Equinest interview (sorry - I'm a bit behind in my visits to other blogs.) And I was pleased to see that mules have joined your life.

I have a new appreciation for mules, probably because I've been charmed by one.

At the pony barn where I volunteered last year, we had a little cart mule who was a little too good a mover for the little kids. That old facility was small, and the mule was restless because, when she had to be stalled, she was bored, bored, bored.

I always gave her extra attention, even though the barn managers insisted I was wasting my time, that she didn't like it. Granted, she wasn't nuts about petting, but she seemed to relax when I'd coo at her and sing to her.

Anyway, after they moved to the larger facility this year with bigger turnouts, I went out into the field to greet my long-eared special friend. I hadn't been to the barn in months because my schedule had changed.

But after I got about halfway into the field, my little mule friend walked over to greet me.
